This listing is for a vintage Japanese chuya or chuuya style obi. This style is reversible with patterns on both sides, often in contrasting colors, as chuya means "day and night".

This vintage chuya obi is a captivating piece that balances refined structure with floral romance. One side features a fence and vine motif in earthy tones of deep eggplant, sage, and silver, giving it a stately, architectural elegance.

The reverse reveals a more poetic side: a rich chocolate brown background adorned with pink and black peonies, chrysanthemums, and scenic imagery on folding fans. The finely woven details catch the light beautifully. The double-side design makes it versatile for styling or display, offering two distinct aesthetics in one textile.
