This listing is for a vintage Japanese haori (kimono jacket) that we modified slightly to allow for a roomier fit on larger frames. 

This lively haori jacket shines in a rich shade of deep orange - its surface animated by graceful, curved lines that drift like clouds or flow like a quick moving stream. The silk is woven with lines that create a horizontal shimmer that catches the light, and the white ripples were created with a brushed-on resist paste and offer a natural sense of motion. Up close the fine craftsmanship shows in each smooth arc and tiny ridge, while from a distance the design forms a rhythmic, modern graphic. 

In our Oki Haori Line (oki means "big" in Japanese) of modified haori jackets, we open up the gusset and underarm seams and then re-attached them using every inch of the salvage seam edges. This yields up to additional inches in the waist, hip, and bust measurements.

Whereas unmodified haori tend to be narrower at the bust because the side gussets gradually narrow from waist to bust, our Oki Haori do not taper at the bust, which gives you more coverage in front. Compare your measurements to those given, keeping in mind that the measurements we give are the haori measurements, not a recommendation for the wearer's measurements.
