This listing is for an antique Japanese kimono made for a young girl to wear.

This Japanese kimono layers seasonal flowers across celebratory fan and open book motifs, creating a visual garden of prosperity and renewal. Turquoise and pink contrast beautifully with the violet purple background. Look closely to see peonies, mums, plum blossoms, wisteria, maple leaves, and more! 

Although we cannot give a specific age to this kimono, its coloring, design, silk type and red lining suggest that it is from pre-war Japan, as early as the 1920s but likely before the 1940s.
