This listing is for a vintage Japanese kimono made for a young girl to wear.

Charming and playful, this padded kimono is a joyful celebration in cloth, with a checkerboard pattern of vivid orange and cream squares. Within each square, clusters of mums, peonies, and maple leaves mingle with playful depictions of round-faced children in red bibs .  (They're actually ningyo dolls, their serene expressions and plump forms symbolize happiness, innocence, and the wish for healthy growth.)

Unfortunately, there are a few blemishes, see last photos. Still great for display!
