Since most vintage kimono were hand-stitched, some customers are hesitant to disassemble their purchase, even if their plan is to upcycle the fabric in some way. 

One can't help but sigh and admire the delicate, even stitches that a skilled artisan once sewed - and this keeps some sewists and crafters from actually upcycling the textile.  Don't worry - we can do it for you.

We use a seam ripper but we don't "rip" anything.  We are gentle and honor the work of the skilled hands that made it as we separate each panel.  This will delay shipping by up to three days.

We will send you the kimono fabric only (we'll keep the lining fabric for our future craft projects) and we'll refund any savings in shipping the reduced weight.
