This listing is for a vintage silk kimono made for a young girl. While it may seem long enough for an adult, note that the width and his/waist are more narrow than an adult's kimono of similar length would be.

Bright orange - an auspicious color in Japan - is the background for this layered floral design.  Stencil-outlined chrysanthemums and plum blossoms arch across the field behind the more colorful florals in greens and yellows.  The featured florals on the front panel are embellshed with gold embroidered accents on some petals. 

Nestled in the larger bouquets is a hexagon-shaped box, bordered in black that would have held the clamshell pieces of kai awase - a traditional Japanese memory matching game.
