A beautiful complete set of four Jirō Takidaira Spring-themed art prints, preserved in the original presentation folder and wrappers. Rich colors, crisp printing, and Takidaira's signature paper-cut (kirie) style celebrate the arrival of spring in Japan, making this an attractive display set for collectors of Japanese art, folk art, and seasonal imagery.

This portfolio is the first volume of Japan's Four Seasons (Nihon no Shiki), a series of high-quality reproduction prints based on Jirō Takidaira's original kirie artworks. Featured images include a young woman admiring peach blossoms against a vivid purple sky, a figure gathering branches of fragrant plum blossoms, children playing beneath flowering trees in a joyful Spring scene, and a young woman seated among bright yellow rapeseed flowers as butterflies drift overhead. Together, the prints capture the renewal, beauty, and optimism of Springtime in rural Japan, reflecting the nostalgic charm and seasonal storytelling that made Takidaira's artwork so beloved.

Published in 1976. They are printed or mounted on thin cardboard with a thin gold border. The backside is speckled with Japanese writing that tells the title and artist's name.

Print Titles: Peach Blossoms, Plum Blossoms, Children at Play, Rapeseed Blossoms.

Jirō Takidaira (1921-2009) was one of Japan's most celebrated modern kirie (paper-cut art) artists. His distinctive style combines the bold black outlines of traditional paper cutting with vibrant colors and nostalgic depictions of rural Japanese life. Takidaira's work often focuses on seasonal landscapes, children, village traditions, and everyday scenes, creating images that feel both folk-art inspired and deeply connected to Japan's cultural heritage. His prints remain popular with collectors because they blend traditional craftsmanship with a warm, approachable modern aesthetic.
