This large, artistic scroll features a central figure of a monk seated in prayer, surrounded by the stamp insignia of the 88 Temples of Shikoku's famous pilgrimage trail. (See more on wikipedia).

The calligraphy is outstanding, as is the delicate detail on the monk as well as the golden canopy adorned with four dragon heads. Bordered with silk brocade and weighted with a gold-capped dowel at the bottom.

Comes with its original paulownia box, which has an inscription and red seal on the inside of the top piece.

This is really an outstanding art piece with deep spiritual significance for those who might meditate or just admire Buddhist art. Comes in its original paulownia wood box. This scroll is not vintage - these are commissioned by pilgrims who have done the trail.
