This listing is for a vintage Japanese furoshiki - a very handy, sturdy, multi-use wrapping cloth used in Japan.  

This vintage furoshiki has a warm, deep mauve and cream grid pattern that gives it a grounded, earthy feel perfect for everyday wrapping. The woven texture features subtle raised sections along the intersecting lines, adding dimension. The silk is soft and refined with a slippery drape.

Artistic furoshiki (often silk) are traditionally used as gift wrap but also make creative wall or table displays. Furoshiki in solid colors or with printed patterns (often cotton or rayon) are more casual versions used for shopping, transporting goods, or storing items at home.
