This listing is for a traditional vintage furisode kimono - the most formal, long-sleeved style created for a young, unmarried woman.  See below for more detail.

A bold burst of color, this furisode pairs sweeping orange kanoko (fawn spot) shibori sections with brilliant cobalt and turquoise foliage, fiery peonies, creamy blossoms, and delicate pink bellflower blooms. Yuzen dyeing, gold leaf, and fine couching bring dimension to the flowers and black geometric accents, while a subtle herringbone-patterned jacquard adds texture throughout the cream silk. Peonies symbolize beauty and prosperity, making the exuberant floral design especially celebratory.

Signs of age are present, including light wear, minor spots, and subtle discoloration from age and use, see last photo(s).

Furisode are worn for formal events, such as Seijin-no-hi (Coming of Age Day, sometimes translated as Adults Day) in early January. Furisode are also worn for weddings, recitals, receptions, and other celebrations calling for formal attire. Note the long sleeves (furi = long, sode = sleeves) sometimes called "butterfly sleeves", which flow with grace when she gestures, attracting male attention!
