This listing is for a traditional vintage furisode kimono - the most formal, long-sleeved style created for a young, unmarried woman.  See below for more detail.

Bold scarlet branches of plum blossoms spread across a luminous white background, creating a graphic look with traditional kanoko (fawn spot) shibori. Scattered plum blossoms are highlighted with gold embroidery and couching, while a subtle woven jacquard adds another layer of texture beneath the dramatic red and white design. Blooming in the cold of late winter, plum blossoms symbolize resilience, perseverance, and the promise of spring.

Some signs of age are present, including some minor spots on the front panel, see last photo(s). However, this area would be hidden if worn and if wanted for display, the backside shows no blemishes.

Furisode are worn for formal events, such as Seijin-no-hi (Coming of Age Day, sometimes translated as Adults Day) in early January. Furisode are also worn for weddings, recitals, receptions, and other celebrations calling for formal attire. Note the long sleeves (furi = long, sode = sleeves) sometimes called "butterfly sleeves", which flow with grace when she gestures, attracting male attention!
