This listing is for a vintage michiyuki jacket, meant to be worn over a kimono. A square neck line, inner ties to keep the hemline straight, snap closure, and a hidden pocket on the right front panel are the specific features of a michiyuki - michi means "street" and yuki refers to "going out".

This michiyuki turns heads with its graphic design.  Red, white and black - classic color combination.  Pair this with black pants and a red camisole and you're ready for the evening.

The fabric is a cotton-poly blend - a bit heavier than silk but still breathable and comfy.  The pattern was likely stenciled.  Little white flowers - some with three, four or five petals - appear at the centers of each diamabstract shape.  The geometrics almost look like a tortoise shell, though each element could be five or six sided.

It's fun and funky and sure to turn heads. There are a few blemishes on the lining (see photo) but they do not show on the outside.

Michiyuki are a narrow garment, fastened with snaps that will open if the fit is too tight. (The measurement we give is the jacket snapped closed, so your hips and waist measurement should be several inches smaller than the hips/waist measurement we give.)
