This listing is for one yard from a deadstock bolt of unsewn, unused vintage Japanese kimono fabric.

This silk has a slight crepe texture.  The background is a soft powder pink and the pattern is of angled "hashtags", which, traditionally, represent well covers and are considered auspicious.

The design was created with the ikat technique, where the threads were dyed black before being woven so that the pattern appears on the loom.  See the video below for how this is done.

Great for piecework, especially when combined with other vintage kimono remnants. Continuous yardage may be available.
