Description

This listing is for a full bolt of unused vintage Japanese fabric intended to be made into a kimono but never was. The bolt is tacked shut, as is typical for an uncut, unused bolt, and we have not opened it up to measure it exactly. We cannot discern its original purpose from the original tags, but it will have at least nine yards (for a haori jacket) but more likely eleven, which would be needed for a full kimono.

We assume it was meant to become a man's casual kimono, given the small repeat patterning. Gold and black bands create a grid, and their colors sort of mix to become a bronze color when viewed from afar. The backside is also usable, with more of the black highlighted in the weave.
