Description

This listing is for a single 2-yard panel from a bolt of unsewn, unused vintage Japanese kimono fabric which was meant to be made into a furisode (long sleeved) kimono. This panel was intended to be made into one of the sleeves of the kimono. The patterning is concentrated and "mirrored" in the center of each panel and the rest is a solid purple.

This is a soft, synthetic fabric - easy to care for. The floral pattern includes large and small chrysanthemums shaded in pink and trimmed with gold.

The background color is a rich, warm, magenta purple in a textured weave that imitates small kanoko shibori dots. We can't be sure if the pattern was printed or stenciled, but we do believe that the gold accents along the petals was painted by hand.
