A dramatic hidden landscape unfolds across the shimmering deep green silk lining, with Mt. Fuji rising in metallic gold and silver among rolling clouds, surrounded by four medallion-like mountain views woven in blues, browns, gray, and cream. The changing perspectives give the design an almost travelogue quality, while Mt. Fuji has long symbolized strength, endurance, and good fortune.

The exterior is understated black silk, finished with five wood sorrel family crests for a crisp, formal contrast to the elaborate interior.

The lining of men's haori jackets often depict a scene or motif that was of special interest to the original owner. We often display these jackets inside out to show the lining, and they could be worn this way - inside out - as well; a style that is becoming trendy among Japanese youth.
