This listing is for a vintage Japanese kinchaku (drawstring) purse. These are a prized accessory for a kimono-clad woman even today. They're typically made with kimono fabric, have a flat base, and tend to be used for casual, rather than formal, occasions.

This bag has a tiny circular flat bottom covered with the same silk that creates the pouch. The fabric is an elaborately woven design of silver swirls, red wheels, plum blossoms, and bamboo leaves. Metallic threads that are sure to catch the eye!

Red cording is threaded through the sewn loops at the top to cinch the bag closed.

Lined. Excellent condition.
