This listing is for a vintage Japanese kinchaku (drawstring) purse. These are a prized accessory for a kimono-clad woman even today. They're typically made with kimono fabric, have a flat base, and tend to be used for casual, rather than formal, occasions.

This bag has a square solid bottom covered with the same rayon crepe that creates the pouch.  The rippled crepe texture gives a shimmering quality to the colors. The front and back panels feature a floral pattern, and the sides are a solid red, which calls out the red in the floral print.

Dark red cording is threaded through the sewn loops at the top to cinch the bag closed.
