This listing is for an underkimono - called a "juban" in Japanese - which would be worn under a man's kimono. Learn more about this type of kimono below.

Myth and music mingle across this green-gray men’s underkimono, where a fierce dragon and elegant stringed instrument emerge from a field of tiny confetti-like dots. The main design features a sinuous, scaly dragon twisting through cloud-like forms in muted blue, brown, and gold.  Dragons are powerful symbols of strength, protection, wisdom, and command of water.

At the hemline, a biwa (a traditional Japanese pear-shaped lute) rests beside a fan amid finely drawn rolling waves, with gold accents and layered patterns giving the scene an especially decorative -- almost storybook -- quality.

Juban often feature designs that reflect the interests of their owner but are rarely seen in public since they are layered underneath a kimono. Just an inch or two of the over-collar is visible, though you may catch a glimpse of the sleeve edge at the wrist. Juban make great casual robes.

This kimono does not come with an obi/belt/sash, but we do make simple cotton sashes that can be added as an option when you order. We will choose a color that goes well with it.

If you'd like to display the kimono, we offer hanging rods in five colors (brown, black, natural, white, and red) - see the Add a Display Rod? tab below.
