This listing is for a traditional Japanese hair ornament called kanzashi.  Kanzashi is a generic term for a wide variety of these accessories - including long, rigid hairpins, barrettes, fabric flowers, combs and fabric hair ties - which are worn in traditional Japanese hairstyles.  Click here to learn more about the many forms of kanzashi.

This kanzashi kushi (comb) is Bakelite, we suspect, and features an asymmetrical curved top section resting on two prongs, each molded with unique openings at the mid-point. Lovely deep red with gold.
