The layered scene offers an intimate glimpse into another era, with the screen-within-a-scene adding wonderful visual depth and traditional landscape imagery suggesting tranquility and harmony with nature.

The outer fabric is a simple solid black synthetic(?) blend with no family crests.

The lining of men's haori jackets often depict a scene or motif that was of special interest to the original owner.
