This listing is for a pair of vintage hakama for a small boy. These would have been worn with a formal kimono to a ceremonial event, such as Shichi-Go-San (see video below for more about this holiday),

The fabric is a heavy, stiff brocade - suggesting these are quite formal - in a rich blue with dozens of cranes in a hexagon frame, floating in an almost-checkerboard pattern. Skirt style. Note the deep side slits which are typical of hakama, and the short back ties and extra long front ties.
