This listing is for a vintage cotton jacket originally mean for a child - boy or girl.

The pattern of small white crosses was created with the kasuri (aka ikat) weaving technique where the threads are bound and dyed beforehand so that the pattern emerges on the loom with "fuzzy edges".

You might see patterns and jackets like this on the children in antique Japanese photos from the early 1900s.

There are some signs of age, noticeable at inner bottoms of the sleeves.

This piece is still wearable (small size - check measurements) - but also makes a great display.
