This listing is for a vintage Japanese haori jacket that would have been worn on top of a vintage kimono on a chilly day.  

This vibrant women's haori jacket bursts with color, resembling a garden in full bloom. The flowing design blends rose pink, spring green, soft white, and sky blue layered in painterly swirls that suggest petals caught in the wind. This patterning has a watercolor feel - more contemporary compared to printed, traditional motifs. Perfect to wear as a statement jacket over modern-day clothing or display as textile art as it carries the spirit of mid-century Japanese design.

Haori do not cross over or tie with a sash, like a kimono does - they are meant to be worn open to reveal a bit of what is worn beneath. An optional accessory is the haori himo - little woven ties that are hooked to the little fabric loops that you'll find at the mid-front of the haori - but they are sold separately.
