This listing is for a full sampler bolt with 19 different designs in vintage colors made with katagami stencils. Each design section is approximately 12" long and 14.5" wide.

We love these vintage colors.  Avocado, harvest gold, dusty pink, sandalwood, and others that seem to come from a formica countertop or retro kitchen appliances. The patterning is mostly small, traditional motifs, including various geometrics and florals, but you'll also find umbrellas, arrow feathers, and tatewaku (rising steam). Some of the colors do repeat in among the design panels. 

These sampler bolts were created by kimono companies to showcase new designs and colors that would be available in the next season. In fact, a salesman would visit a kimono tailor and leave these bolts to show to customers. This was common practice through the 1960s, but these sampler bolts are quite hard to find these days.

There may be slight blemishes on the lighter backgrounds but in general this bolt is in excellent condition. The name of the kimono design house is written in kanji on the end panel of the bolt.
