This listing is for a full sampler bolt with 18 different designs in vintage colors, each with katagami stencil designs. Each panel is approximately 12" long and 14.5" wide.

The patterning is mostly small, traditional motifs, including geometrics and florals, but you'll also see cresting waves, gingko leaves, checkerboards, and more! Pretty pastel colors. Some of the colors do repeat in different designs. 

These sampler bolts were created by kimono companies to showcase new designs and colors that would be available in the next season. In fact, a salesman would visit a kimono tailor and leave these bolts to show to customers. This was common practice through the 1960s, but these sampler bolts are quite hard to find these days.

There may be slight blemishes on the lighter backgrounds but in general this bolt is in excellent condition. The name of the kimono design house is written in kanji on the end panel of the bolt.
