This listing is for a full sampler bolt with 15 different designs in vintage colors, likely made with katagami stencils. Each panel is approximately 16" long and 14.5" wide.

Each section of the bolt features a tightly packed traditional Japanese motifs, including geometrics, florals, folding fans and more - all arranged in a grid pattern. Some of the colors do repeat in several designs. 

These sampler bolts were created by kimono companies to showcase new designs and colors that would be available in the next season. In fact, a salesman would visit a kimono tailor and leave these bolts to show to customers. This was common practice through the 1960s, but these sampler bolts are quite hard to find these days.

There may be slight blemishes on the lighter backgrounds but in general this bolt is in excellent condition. The name of the kimono design house is written in kanji on the end panel of the bolt.
