This listing is for a vintage Japanese haori jacket that would have been worn on top of a vintage kimono on a chilly day.  

Glowing like a quiet holiday ember against fresh snow, this vintage women's haori features exquisite shibori (Japanese tie-dye) work in warm red, orange, and soft greenish-blues. The pattern is quite stylized with long reaching stems, leaves, and blossoms that could be mums or something else?

The cream background has a swirling jacquard weave pattern that adds gentle movement and depth. A beautiful addition to any collection, offering both craftsmanship and a sense of celebration.

As with many light-colored vintage textiles, there is some light blemishing on the cream. Some are easy to point out, while some spots are light and blend in, see last photos.

Haori do not cross over or tie with a sash, like a kimono does - they are meant to be worn open to reveal a bit of what is worn beneath. An optional accessory is the haori himo - little woven ties that are hooked to the little fabric loops that you'll find at the mid-front of the haori - but they are sold separately.
