This listing is for a vintage silk kimono made for a young girl. While it may seem long enough for an adult, note that the width and his/waist are more narrow than an adult's kimono of similar length would be.

The deep, rich orange background of this kimono is warm and regal.  The silk jacquard has a plum blossom pattern in the weave.  Some of those tone-on-tone florals were bound with tight threading (the shibori technique) before the white silk was dyed orange.  After the dye bath, the stitches were removed, leaving those blossom elements white.

Beautiful contrast and beautifully understated design, as the white blossoms seem random! White lining on the sleeves just peeks out in the underarm opening.
