This listing is for a vintage Japanese haori jacket that would have been worn on top of a vintage kimono on a chilly day.  

This refined woman's haori jacket is crafted from black silk with a slight crepe texture and decorated with scattered motifs that resemble tattered paper or fabric fragments. The remnants are woven in shimmering gold and silver threads, each piece patterned with geometric, textile-like designs of grids, diamonds, stripes. The scattered placement creates a rhythmic, understated elegance - like pieces of cloth caught on the wind. Don't miss the single ivy crest on the back.

Haori do not cross over or tie with a sash, like a kimono does - they are meant to be worn open to reveal a bit of what is worn beneath. An optional accessory is the haori himo - little woven ties that are hooked to the little fabric loops that you'll find at the mid-front of the haori - but they are sold separately.
