This vintage Japanese haori jacket would have been worn on top of a vintage kimono on a chilly day. The retro feel of the patterning suggests it might be from the 1950s or 1960s.

We love the abstract imagery on these older Japanese haori! This one features diamond shapes, paired one above the other, and each filled with a stylized floral that looks a bit like a snowflake to us.

Additionally cool is the background color, created with a complex dye process that layers shades of gray on a deep gold color to give the overall effect of olive.

All of the stitching is hidden (since it was hand-sewn) so technically these haori jackets are reversible. Sometimes the lining is as pretty as the outer jacket!
