Understated from a distance and full of detail up close, this vintage women’s haori features a soft gray silk scattered with small, abstract floral motifs in black, red, and pale pink. The technique is ikat, where the pattern is created by resist-dyeing threads before weaving, giving each blossom its slightly blurred, painterly edge. The flowers feel loosely arranged with gentle movement and asymmetry that keeps the eye engaged. Scattered florals often suggest fleeting beauty and seasonal change.

A woman's haori is a traditional Japanese jacket worn over a kimono, designed to provide both warmth and an added layer of formality.
