Bold color and oversized blooms give this vintage haori a wonderfully graphic, mid-century modern look. Deep green and black bands feature a basketweave-like lattice pattern, punctuated by large close-up florals in sunny yellow, red, blue, and soft lavender, all given a softly broken, textural quality by the ikat weave.

The ikat technique uses resist-dyed threads woven together to form the design, creating the distinctive softly blurred edges and subtle variations that give the pattern its handcrafted character.

The decorative lining adds another layer of pattern with stylized waves and colorful thread spools, a fitting textile-themed detail tucked inside.

A woman's haori is a traditional Japanese jacket worn over a kimono, designed to provide both warmth and an added layer of formality.
