Delicate and refined, this elegant Japanese folding fan features airy woven fabric adorned with beautifully embroidered cherry blossom branches in soft pinks. Intricately pierced bamboo guards add another layer of craftsmanship, while the matching embroidered storage sleeve, presentation box, tassel, and original paperwork make this a wonderful collector's set or thoughtful gift.

The set is inscribed with Hakuchikudo which is a renowned Kyoto fan maker. The enclosed literature explains that Hakuchikudo was founded in 1718 in front of Nishi Hongan-ji Temple in Kyoto, and describes the traditional handcrafting process, noting that a folding fan passes through more than 50 individual steps performed by skilled artisans.
