This listing is for a decorative image taken from a vintage Japanese katagami stencil, suitable for framing.  It is not part of the original stencil - it is a copied image, machine-cut, on thick art paper. See below for how these traditional stencils were designed, cut by hand and used to pattern Japanese textiles.

This piece of wall art features the traditional and well-known image of a crane made from folded paper (origami).  Large and boldly cut, it allows whatever color or patterning mounted behind it to really show through.

Your purchase includes only a sheet of the katagami art and a contrasting piece of cardstock to place behind it. Photos show examples of how placing different colored paper or fabric behind the stencil can change the display. The last photos give suggestions for framing.
