This listing is for a full sampler bolt with 15 different designs in a variety of colors. The designs in each section were made with katagami stencils. Each section is approximately 14" long and 14" wide.

A charming mix of small-scale, repeating patterns runs throughout this sampler, each strip offering a different take on nature-inspired design. Delicate florals, tiny blossoms, and scattered petals appear alongside stylized leaves, vines, and soft, flowing water.  

These sampler bolts were created by kimono companies to showcase new designs and colors that would be available in the next season. In fact, a salesman would visit a kimono tailor and leave these bolts to show to customers. This was common practice through the 1960s, but these sampler bolts are quite hard to find these days.

There may be signs of age with an occasional scattered blemish.
