A celebration of color and good fortune, this vintage girl's kimono features bold crimson clouds floating across a soft pink background filled with traditional Japanese treasures. Colorful temari balls, decorative folding fans, origami cranes, and treasure ships appear in vibrant shades of blue, green, yellow, red, and white, creating a playful collection of auspicious motifs symbolizing happiness, prosperity, longevity, and good luck. The colorful designs are printed on lightweight, unlined silk, with attached ties for easy dressing.

This vintage kimono shows a couple of spots on the back and more noticeable spotting and discoloration on the front, consistent with age and previous use.

This kimono has an 8" tuck at the waist and a 3" tuck at each shoulder. These can be taken out to allow for more length and width if desired.

Traditional Japanese children's kimono were worn for special occasions, family celebrations, festivals, and ceremonial events, including Shichi-Go-San (Seven-Five-Three), a celebration honoring children's growth and well-being at ages three, five, and seven. Traditionally, girls celebrate at ages three and seven, while boys celebrate at ages three and five, although customs vary by region and family. Girls' kimono often featured colorful patterns, auspicious motifs, and attached ties to make dressing easier for young children. Many were carefully preserved and passed down through generations as treasured family keepsakes.
