This listing is for a vintage Japanese kimono, obi, and obijime combination.

This playful yet elegant kimono features an all-over pattern of vases - each one adorned with stylized motifs in olive green, mustard, and deep gray tones. The repeated urns, - alternating in shape and orientation, give the fabric a rhythmic, almost architectural structure, like a collector’s shelf frozen in time. Looking closer you can see the pattern was woven using the ikat technique, where the silk threads are bound and dyed in a pattern before they are woven so that the images emerge on the loom. It's a fascinating and time-consuming process that takes great skill from many artisans. See video below about ikat is done.

The obi is a solid yellow and the obijime is green - both matching the accent colors in the kimono.

The obi is a fukuro style - wide the entire length but has no pattern.

See the videos below to learn how to dress in kimono.
