This listing is for a traditional vintage furisode kimono - the most formal, long-sleeved style created for a young, unmarried woman.  See below for more detail.

Commanding yet ethereal, this vintage furisode kimono balances a deep sapphire blue with sweeping white forms that reveal an intricate world of symbolism. Within the layered design, mirrored peacocks and cranes appear in balanced pairs, representing beauty, longevity, and harmony. The surface is enriched by a nested diamond jacquard background, overlaid with scrolling waves, florals, and geometrics that unfold slowly as the light moves. Silver leaf accents and delicate couching add a refined shimmer, giving this kimono depth without overpowering its serene palette. 

Furisode are worn for formal events, such as Seijin-no-hi (Coming of Age Day, sometimes translated as Adults Day) in early January. Furisode are also worn for weddings, recitals, receptions, and other celebrations calling for formal attire. Note the long sleeves (furi = long, sode = sleeves) sometimes called "butterfly sleeves", which flow with grace when she gestures, attracting male attention!
