This listing is for a woman's Japanese summer kimono - called a yukata. Learn more about this type of kimono below.

Bold geometry and bright color give this yukata a lively mid-century feel. The pattern is built on a traditional kikko (tortoise shell) hexagon grid, a classic Japanese design symbolizing longevity and good fortune. Each hexagon contains a dotted field with a square-centered motif that resembles old Japanese coins, creating a playful rhythm across the fabric in white, green, dark blue, yellow, and orange. The crisp cotton and graphic stencil printing give the piece a distinctly retro look while still rooted in traditional pattern design.

This kimono does not come with an obi or sash, but you can add one of our simple cotton sashes -- click the option on the right.

These are unlined cotton robes usually worn to casual gatherings or for summer festivals. Yukata are also sometimes offered to guests in Japanese inns and hotels. Yukata are popular these days as bath robes, beach or poolside cover ups, or for Japanese festivals or sushi parties anywhere in the world.

See the videos below for how to put on a casual kimono or yukata as well as a slide show of many beautiful ones!
