Description

This listing is for an unusual piece of vintage cotton, with finished edges and reinforced corners that make us wonder what the original use was. We suspect it might have been intended as an underskirt (han juban) but it seems too heavy for that.

The colors are a light green with red and yellow, and the weight and texture of the weave are warm and soft. It seems in excellent condition so we wonder if it was ever used. It wasn't woven by hand (see salvage edges) but has the look and feel of a soft, rustic, vintage textile.

50" wide and 33" long, beautifully hand-stitched together. Could be used as a table cover or quilt backing.
