Formal Kimono
Formal Japanese kimono can be identified by the number of familly crests - one at the neck is the first level, adding one on the back of each sleeve is the next, and adding two more at the front collar makes it the highest level. An exception is the wedding kimono, which are very formal but usually without crests. (Antique wedding kimono may have crests.)
