This listing is for one yard of reclaimed vintage Japanese fabric salvaged from a kimono or haori.

This kimono fabric is synthetic, likely from the 1970s - and easy to care for and work with. The background is a mottled, cloudy pink with a floral and thin horizontal lines woven in. On top is a series of stenciled florals in light blue and a dark pink.

The standard width of all kimono fabric is between 13" and 14" and each length offered here is at least 36" - some are more generous cuts. Multiple pieces may be available.

When we find vintage (circa 1950s but could be older or newer by two decades) Japanese kimono or haori in less-than-sellable condition, we salvage what we can and offer it to artisans, quilters, crafters, and designers for project work. So the fabric has been previously sewn and though we carefully deconstruct the kimono, previous seam lines, as well as minor blemishes, may need to be worked around or trimmed away.
