This listing is for a single panel of crepe silk picturing the torso and legs of a kimono-clad figure. These were once used by merchants to show the latest designs for the season.

This sampler panel pairs an intricate scenic landscape with a subtle geometric coordinate, giving it the feeling of a miniature woven map from another era. The haori jacket top features a richly detailed village and countryside design in deep teal-blue with cream linework, depicting traditional homes, winding paths, trees, and layered scenery in a style reminiscent of old Japanese woodblock landscapes and nostalgic rural vistas.

The kimono lower section balances the busy scenic print with a refined brown geometric lattice filled with tiny floral and abstract motifs, adding structure and a grounded, tailored contrast to the upper design.

Note the numbers printed on one edge that identifies the samples.

Originally intended as a fabric showroom sample for kimono makers or textile buyers, this unique panel makes a wonderful display piece for a sewing studio, textile collection, framed wall art, or creative patchwork and craft projects.

Last photo shows an example of how it might be displayed on a wall.

Signs of age may be present, including light wear, small marks, or subtle variations consistent with vintage textiles.
