This listing is for a traditional fukuro style obi that features a very traditional motif - seigaiha, which translates to overlapping coins or waves.  The "coins" are woven in curved bands with red or green bands alternating with the gold. 

The motif seems to peek out from between billowing clouds filled with a gold-on-white diamond grid. Beautifull woven - would make a striking display piece for the holidays.

This is a fukuro obi - wide for the entire length, plain on the backside and a patterned design only on the front. There is a one yard "blank" section on the front, as is common with contemporary fukuro obi, where some cost can be saved by leaving it blank where the first wrap layer of the belt portion occurs, since it doesn't show to the public.
