Description

This listing is for one yard from a deadstock bolt of unsewn, unused vintage Japanese kimono fabric.

The dark color on this is a very deep green - almost black - with bright red and a creamy white providing the wavy chain patterning. The colors remind us of Christmas.

This is woven with the ikat technique, where the threads are dyed before being woven so that the pattern emerges on the loom. Sometimes called "fuzzy weaving" because of the irregular edges of each element. See video below on how this is done.

Great for piecework, especially when combined with other vintage kimono remnants. Continuous yardage may be available.
