This listing is for a traditional underkimono (juban in Japanese) designed to be worn beneath a woman's kimono. 

Crisp and graphic with a soft vintage touch, this juban features a pink and white stenciled kanoko (fawn spot) shibori pattern arranged in a repeating geometric grid. The design gives the look of traditional tie dye, but with the precision of stencil work. The over-collar has a subtle jacquard weave.

Underkimono make wonderful robes because they are cut shorter than outer kimono, so they do not have the extra length that is typically folded at the waist for traditional dressing. The lighter weight and streamlined shape make them easy to slip on and wear without added bulk. Perfect for the beach, poolside lounging, summer cover ups, or effortless layering at home or out and about.
