This listing is for one yard of cotton fabric from an unsewn bolt of vintage Japanese yukata kimono. Continuous yardage is possible.

A kaleidoscope of colorful butterflies dance across this vintage yukata cotton, giving the fabric a wonderfully playful, psychedelic, mid-century look. Large and small butterflies flutter in vivid red, turquoise, green, yellow, and purple, outlined in deep indigo with delicate curling antennae.  Scattered dot detailing on the wings creates a shibori-inspired effect.

A tiny repeating geometric pattern fills the pale ground and continues through the butterflies, adding texture and visual depth, while butterflies traditionally symbolize transformation, joy, and the fleeting beauty of life.

Signs of age may be present, including light wear, small marks, or subtle variations consistent with vintage textiles.
