This listing is for a traditional vintage furisode kimono - the most formal, long-sleeved style created for a young, unmarried woman.  See below for more detail.

Make an unforgettable entrance with this striking vintage furisode kimono, where saturated crimson silk sets the stage for a woven jacquard of cranes gliding through rolling waves. The jacquard background reveals its imagery as the light moves, while boldly appliqued roses climb the hem and sleeve in rich pinks and greens, adding texture and modern drama. A sparkling green collar trim brings unexpected contrast, and the softly padded sleeve edges lend structure and ceremonial presence. 

Furisode are worn for formal events, such as Seijin-no-hi (Coming of Age Day, sometimes translated as Adults Day) in early January. Furisode are also worn for weddings, recitals, receptions, and other celebrations calling for formal attire. Note the long sleeves (furi = long, sode = sleeves) sometimes called "butterfly sleeves", which flow with grace when she gestures, attracting male attention!
