This listing is for a vintage Japanese haori jacket that would have been worn on top of a vintage kimono on a chilly day. It features shibori - Japanese tie-dye - and likely took weeks just to wrap the tiny bunches of fabric to create the pattern. See videos below on how shibori is done as well as on the different styles of kimono jackets. 

This haori is a sweet, soft silk with an asymmetrical design with sprigs of florals sprouting from a jagged mountain range. The design is largest on the lower back but also appears on the right sleeve backside and the left sleeve front.

Haori do not cross over or tie with a sash, like a kimono does - they are meant to be worn open to reveal a bit of what is worn beneath. An optional accessory is the haori himo - the little woven ties that are hooked to the little fabric loops that you'll find on at the mid-front of the haori - but they are sold separately.
